It costs over $400,000 to run SAINTS. Most saints that arrive at our sanctuary come with large vet bills and a large portion continue to require medical care. This means we like to keep funds available for veterinary care. This means we would prefer to fundraise for our big ticket items This year we aim to raise $15,000 to go towards a gently used van and replace the fence in the lower field.
We aim to also put some fun into our fundraising. Our volunteers divide themselves into the area they volunteer in - the barn, the house, and the mp room. Then they are on a race to raise the most amount of money for their area. The event will culminate on April 30th at the Townhall Abbotsford Pub where we will announce which area raised the most dollars.
We invite the public to join in the fun by giving a donation to your favorite area of SAINTS. If you love Carl the llama, Ellie Mae our pink princess, or Ziggy the donkey who thinks he is a cow, donate to Team Barn. Do you love dogs mostly and some cats then donate to Team House, or maybe you are truly multi species and would like to donate to Team MP Room. This is where you will find the cats, a couple of cranky dogs, birds, (and rabbits who are in their own special suite) and Poppy the pig.
