Dachshund Rescue South Florida hasn't added a story.

Finley found himself with two difficult strikes against him at a partner shelter....he was a senior and he was paralyzed, likely suffering from IVDF. When our intake team made it to the shelter to see him after an urgent medical plea had gone out for him, they found a sweet little man shaking in his cage in some heartbreaking combination of fear and pain.

There was no way he was getting out of the shelter alive without us and so, even though we have Doxies and big ticket medical needs coming out our ears, we scooped Finley up and got him to SEVN.

We breathed a sigh of relief that Finley was in the best place possible for IVDD and we were “only” on the hook for one more IVDD surgery and then the call came from Dr Wong that x-rays has revealed that it wasn’t IVDD that Finley was suffering from, but the injury the strikes fear in our hearts....he had a broken pelvis AND broken legs.

Once we stopped hyperventilating, a transport was rallied to move Finley from SEVN to LeadER and so this afternoon Finley made his way north from Miami to Ft Lauderdale where he is now under the care of Dr Horgan and the LeadER team who is planning for surgery to put this little boy back together again.

The hits keep coming and we are once again facing our most dreaded opponent...the broken pelvis, a $6,000 surgery at the generously discounted rate.

We are back AGAIN to ask your support after you have given us so much this week. Would you consider a donation or even a few dollars to Finley’s fund?

As always, if everyone donates just a little we know we can reach our goal and even if you can’t donate, we still invite you to leave a message or support as the more comments we have, the more people see Finley’s story.

We can’t make Doxie dreams come true without YOU? Will you help us help Finley?
