Dachshund Rescue South Florida hasn't added a story.

We have two asks in one post and one of the asks has a double whammy in it.
We were asked to take a sweet little 3 month old puppy with some wonky back legs. It was hard to tell where the problem was, but they went way out to the side making almost a straight line. He can get himself up and around, but we don’t know if there is anything we can do to make it better than it is.
Before we could even get to think about getting him seen for his leg, he started having bloody diarrhea (the double whammy). Off to LeadER we go. The plan was parvo test, test for parasites, bloodwork, fluids and belly meds. Parvo test was negative (woohoo) but he was loaded with worms. A couple days at LeadER and some dewormer and meds and the mess his backend was creating was under control.
Next step is a visit with Dr Marin and some X-rays and an exam. The initial visit shows some deformities in his hip joints that are not surgical at this time and may not ever be surgical.
Dr Marin and President Pam have decided that we are going to give him some time to be a puppy and see if running and playing makes him stronger. We don’t expect that his legs will ever be normal, but they don’t need to be, he just needs to get himself around happily and comfortably and at this time, that’s what is happening and Cricket will have follow up appointments with Dr Marin to monitor his growth.
The second ask is that we are looking for Cricket’s foster to adopt home. He’s a wonderfully sweet and happy puppy, he’s good with all people and other dogs. He’s not neutered yet, but DRSF will take care of that.
Cricket's foster to adopt home must be in Miami Dade, Broward or Palm Beach in order to be close to our partner vets. Cricket has no restrictions and just wants a family to love him. If you would like to adopt from DRSF, please go to  www.dachshundrescuesouthflorida.com  and submit an application. Thank you!!!
