The shelter reached out to their rescue partners just as the story broke on WSVN Chanel 7 - 29 chi's were rescued from a hoarding situation in Pompano and needed placement.
As often happens, someone with a good heart and a love of animals starts out with good intentions and after a few litters of puppies, things begin to escalate quickly and they get in over their head.
The 29 dogs and one cat made their way to Broward Animal Services where some were healthy enough to go directly to adoption and others were in a little rougher shape and needed medical care and that is where we stepped in.
We have always felt that even when hoarding cases happen, if everyone steps and does SOMETHING to help, a solution can be found.
So we stepped up
EIGHT times.
This afternoon, the Pambulance pulled up to BCAC and 8 of these 29 dogs were sprung and on their way to Dr. Bruce's to start their lives over.
Millie, Suki, Marrin, Abbie, Popeye, Diva, Buster, and Bindy are resting comfortably this evening and we will have more details on their medical condition throughout the weekend, but we are currently working with $400 in take expenses, some eye issues, skin issues, and who knows what else.
