The Universe is not letting us catch our breath as on top of the two IVDD cases and three broken pelvis' we have taken in less than a month, on Tuesday, we welcomed one more IVDD Case (Alyssa) and another sweet girl who had been HBC (Hit By Car) and would be euthanized at a local shelter without us as people are not lining up to adopt an injured dog.
The little girl we have named Lotis is our FOURTH Broken Pelvis/HBC we have taken in the span of 30 days. Along with Alyssa, Lotis was rescued by the Pambulance and immediately made her way to LeadER Animal Specialty Hospital where she was triaged by Dr. Horgan and Dr. Mijah.
When she arrived, Lotis was not bearing weight on her back left leg, but even worse than that, a large piece of her tail was 99% broken off and literally hanging by a thread. (We have decided not to show those photos....). Drs Horgan and Mijah examined Lotis and then sedated her for x-rays which revealed a broken femur along with the broken pelvis and to remove what was left of her tail.
Lotis will be spending some time at LeadER getting loved on and treated for her injuries and we are back, yet again, to ask your support to make another miracle. They come to the shelters injured, alone, and afraid. Their chances of adoption are zero. Without us, they have nobody to come for them. As always, every single dollar gets us one step closer to each of our dogs funding finish line. We fund-raise for each dog as they come to cover their expenses so that we can help them AND have the resources to help the next little one that is likely alone and out on the streets right now and will need us soon.....
