Returned and Broken

And the hits keep coming…It is almost inconceivable to us that we are in this position again, once again asking our amazing DRSF community for help, but here we are.  DRSF was made aware of this young boy, Nelo, last night and we have made the commitment to help him. 

This little boy was adopted out of a local shelter in pretty bad shape, multiple breaks of his pelvis, 2 femur fractures, “one of which has healed in an abnormal position.”  Yesterday, the family who saved him from the shelter, returned him to the shelter…for an upper respiratory infection.  Once DRSF was made aware of this little boy who has been through so much was scheduled for euthanasia this evening at 6:30, we knew we had to help him.  As of right now, he is dehydrated and is being given fluids and pain medication to keep him comfortable and DRSF is on the way to get him out as soon as we are able to.

Can you imagine the pain and confusion this young dog must be feeling?  Being in horrible pain, untreated factures, finally finding a family to call his own to then have it all taken away?  Sent back to a scary cage, cold, hurting and alone?  We know we ask a lot, but we also know the DRSF community would never want us to walk away from a dog that needs us so desperately.  Please help Nelo live the life he deserves, one with a family to call his own and one without pain.  Donations of ANY size help us get closer to being able to help this boy get the care he needs.
