Winston has lot quite a bit in the last little while....he lost his ability to use his legs and walk and now he has lost his Mom and home.  

Winston is a stunning long haired little man suffering from IVDD.  His Mom loved him very much but she was going through some really hard times (harder than many of us have ever had to face) and she knew she wasn't giving Winston the care he needed, and sadly, her situation wasn't going to change for her any time in the near future.

So, she made the hardest decision any of us could be faced with and knew that her boy needed more care than she could provide, as she needed care herself.   Winston's Mom was very open about his condition, but needed to make sure he had a safe place so that she could focus on herself and getting better.  She didn't have a lot of options - it was us or the shelter. 

When we heard both their stories, there was no way we could turn Winston away, even though our resources are running lower than they have been in years.  Rescue is always about the dogs, but sometimes rescue is about the people who love the dogs too and both Winston and his Mom were in a really rough spot. 

We are in a really rough spot financially, but we couldn't turn him away and so Winston has been welcomed to DRSF and is headed to SEVN to be evaluated and we are here on bended knee to ask your help to give a 2nd chance.
