President Pam got a call from one of our most amazing vets, Dr. Hughes at Pet Medical Center Boca hoping for a miracle.....

Someone had brought in a 3 year old Shiba Inu to be euthanized for pyometra.   

Would we take her?

Rescue is always, always, always about the dogs, but rescue is also about the vets who care for the dogs too.  Dr. Phillips at LeadER did not want to euthanize Remington and Dr. Hughes most definitely did not want to euthanize this sweet girl as they could both be saved.  They just needed a place to go.....

We could save Kira AND give a huge amount of relief to Dr. Hughes, whom we think he world of and has done so much to help us.

Yes, absolutely Dr. Hughes, we can take her.

Kira went to surgery with Dr. Hughes and after her incredibly infected uterus was removed (all 100% completely preventable.....grrrrrr), we are on the hook for $850 to save Kira's life.

We know we have been on a bit of a tear of sharing the doxie love with other breeds, but if we can cover each one of them, we can continue to save lives and they all deserve a chance.  We can't save them all, but we can help the ones that come directly into our path as long as you agree they are worth it. 

You all have worked a miracle for Remington and he is good and do you have another $850 in us so that Kira can go on to have the home, life and family she deserves?
