In her shelter photo her big eyes showed how scared she was with her ears tucked back and in the most heartbreaking of all, her medical records showed "No Name Specified"
She was hurt, afraid and alone without even a name.
Her photo came on a blast from the shelter with her medical notes which none of them seemed to be an easy fix...
"P has bruising on abdomen and vulva. Suspect hit by car, but unknown. P has a luxation of sacral vertebrae with public fracture. There are nerve deficits in the pelvic limbs, anal tone is intact. This injury will likely result in permanent neurologic dysfunction and p will probably have issues walking in the future. P has fracture in right 3rd metatarsal bone. P also has a corneal ulcer."
She likely had been hit by a car and sustained a pelvic fracture, broken leg with likely "permanent neurologic disfunction" and a corneal ulcer on top.
Our two hardest things - broken pelvis and possible neurological damage all rolled into one scared little girl.
We were not going to turn her away.

We named her Simcha (which means joy) and we crossed our fingers, said a prayer that it wasn't as bad as we thought and got her out of that shelter and to LeadER to get checked out.
We don't know what we are up against, but we know if it has "broken leg", "broken Pelvis" and possibly "neurologic damage" on the shelter records, it isn't going to be easy, but she deserves a chance.
Simcha is getting checked out at Leader to get a treatment plan together and we are back again, to ask your support to help us make a miracle - if we can cover Simcha's care, we can be there to help the next little one we know is out there and will need us soon.
