Our hearts have not even begun to heal form losing Camellia and not even 24 hours later, we received a call from a partner shelter that a very old, very sick little girl had just come in...could we help her?

Her list of conditions was as old as rescue itself and all the calling cards of a lifetime of neglect...she is blind, arthritic, her teeth are a mess, she has dark blood in her stool which is indicative of internal bleeding, and as is the mark of a little girl who has been foreced to have too, too many puppies....she also has a mammary tumor.

We are still not completely funded for Tug and are bursting at the seams with over 400 rescued this year and not close to that many placed, but we could not let her die alone and with our hearts still raw from Camellia, with a renewed determiation to continue to fight.

We placed our hold, transport was rallied, a call was placed to Leader Emergency Hospital to let them know they had an incoming geriatric doxie with possible internal bleeding, and Dr. Correa and Melissa were there to meet the little girl we have named Millicent and her tranport team.  As they always do for us, Millicent was whisked to the back where Dr. Correa and the team of specialists could evaulate her, get her bloodwork and IV started, and compile the list of diagnositc tests necessary to determine what is happening with her insides.
