All owner surrender requests are hard, but the ones where a family chooses to surrender due to not having the resources to provide medical care are the hardest of all.
Meet Luna who came to us late this afternoon after her family surrendered her having receiving a diagnosis of Anal Sac Adenocarcinoma.
Luna is a beautiful little girl, but her body tells the story of something terrible going on in that she has a large mass on her back end, which can't be good.
Luna was examined by Dr. Bruce and quickly made her way to LeadER where she is under the care of Surgeon, Dr. Marin.
Dr. Marin has examined Luna and she and her team are developing a care plan which will include imaging of her back end to determine what the mass is, how big it is, and how best to move forward.
Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts tonight and we know that she is in the best hands possible.
As always, it is not our place to judge a family for what they did or didn't do or could or should have done as we never know what it is like to walk in someone's shoes. Nobody ever wants to have to give up their dog and we are just glad that Luna is at LeadER and with the people who have the best chance of helping her.
