It has been a crazy week with more sick and injured souls finding their way to our for rhan have in a long, long time.
Many dogs find their way to us early on so that we can change their lives and help them avoid abuse and years of neglect. Quetzel was not that lucky.
A call came from a local shelter that they had an injured dog whose family was contacted and would not come for him. What little we know, he had been passed around (and not well treated) and when he finally got out and was hit by a car, his “family” decided they had had enough.
What we found upon our arrival to the shelter is a sweetheart broken both in spirit and body... Quetzel has multiple rib fractures, SQ emphysema, mild pneumothorax, pulmonary contusions and a bunch of bones in his stomach. He is currently not walking so we have not ruled out a pelvic fracture.
We are rapidly approaching a $20,000 week, but just as with all the others, Quetzel deserves every bit as much of his chance at a life, Love, and home that we dream of for any of our dogs.
So far this week, you have rallied behind us for IVDD surgery, leg amputations, mass removals and Parvo treatment...
