Dachshund Rescue South Florida hasn't added a story.
The his just keep coming this week.....we very much hope the Universe is going to give us all a break shortly, but in the mean time, we would like to introudce LIttle Peanut, who is in need of our help to keep from having his leg amputated.
Little Peanut is the product of back yard breeding and currently, his femur is so twisted that it has dragged his kneecap all the way around the side of his leg making his leg completely unstable and very painful.
If left untreate,d the muscles will atrophy and contrac to make the leg even more painful and disfigured. His only option, at all of 5 months old, is to either try to straighten the kneecap, which will hopefully stay and provid ethe stability necessary for the leg to be functional, or to have his leg removed.
In case that is not enough for one little man to handle, he is also cryptorchid, meaning that both of his testicles have not descended, so that will be an additional proceedure needed.
Dr. Moore at Broward Veterinary Specialists will do Little Peanut's Surgery and we are hopful that his leg will not need to be amputated!
We know that we have aksed for quite a lot this week, but the hits just keep coming. We will keep making dreams come true as long as you, our DRSF family empower us to do so!
As always, we welcome donations of any size and all go to making South Florida the safest place in the Country to be a doxie down on your luck!
