She is just days away from a potentially complicated birth and she, her puppies, and her puppies Dad all were surrendered.  Meet Chloe, Spot, and Babies A,B,C, &D. 

Little Chloe is a teeny-tiny Yorkie little girl who just over one year old and despite how handsome he is, it was probably not on Chloe’s bingo card to mate with Spot, who is twice her size. 

When we were asked to take them, we knew that Chloe was pregnant, but when we learned that she had mated with a much larger dog, the stakes got much higher much faster. 

X-rays revealed that Chloe has 4 puppies in her by a dog much bigger than her increases her risk of needing a c-section. 

We have stepped up and offered them all a safe place to land and we have committed to providing Chloe and her puppies with all the care and supplies they will need. In the mean time Chloe is getting settled in her new home and enjoying some time in the sun before her Mom duties officially begin. 

All new Mom’s deserve a baby shower and Chloe has set up a registry at Chewy at https://www.chewy.com/g/dachshund-rescue-south-florida_b109961882#wish-listwithall the food, blankets, beds, and pee pads that she will need (SO many pee pads) to care for her puppies and she also welcomes donations via her Petfundr at x or by texting DRSF to 53-555 (to donate via PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, ACH, or Credit Card) to help cover the 16 vet visits the puppies will need (2,4,6 and 8 weeks) along with vaccines and spay/neuter.

We can only say “yes we can help” because you make it possible.  We are looking at over $5,000 to provide everything this sweet family will need and every dollar donated ensures that Chloe, Spot and their puppies are taken care of AND makes sure our war chest is ready to help whoever is out there and will need us next.
