They were born into squalor and are now fighting for their lives against parvo all due to the greediness of a horrible puppy store owner in Pembroke Park.
Late Friday afternoon, DRSF received a call from Animal Control after being put on alert of a situation with 31 puppies who had been exposed to parvo. We were stunned to find out it wasn't a hoarding or backyard breeding situation, but a puppy store.
When the Pambulance arrived at this store, Pam found chain link fence inside a retail space with hay on the ground and over 4,000 SF of puppies who would absolutely die without treatment and very well might die even with treatment.
There were two doxies in the 31, two little boys we have named Rollie and Paddie, who were loaded into the Pambulance and headed toward LeadER and due to the fact that they were parvo positive had to go in a separate entrance and immediately into the isolation ward with its own HVAC, supplies, exam table, etc, and procedures to gown up and then disinfect each time a staff member enters and leaves the ward.
The boys were checked, out, both exhibiting symptoms, with Rollie having an Upper Respiratory infection on top of parvo. We don't know if we got them too late, we don't know if we can save them. We don't know if they will live and have a chance at the life they deserve.
We are 75 dogs ahead of where we were at this time last year with more urgent medical cases than we have seen in years - with these two being our 6th and 7th cases of parvo this year.
You have kept us afloat through IVDD, broken pelvis', broken legs, ulcerated mammary masses and all the conditions and injuries that could be prevented. Rollie and Paddie have been through so much in their short lives. Will you help us help them fight parvo and have a chance at their happily ever after?
