graphic injury we have ever seen and
tonight
Cookie very much needs your help.
Just a short while ago, Cookie was getting settled into her new
home, a puppy with a playful puppy personality, when her puppy
playfulness upset her older, larger sibling, who reacted, and due to
the difference in their sizes, that reaction led to Cookie's jaw
being ripped nearly clean off her face and her tongue bitten in half.
Her heartbroken and terrified family rushed her to the vet
intent on getting her the best care possible. Once the severity of
her injuries were realized, her family made the heartbreaking
decision to surrender her to DRSF, not only to get the care she
needed, but so that she would not be in danger any longer with the
sibling who caused the injury. She is currently at LeadER Animal
Specialty Hospital under the amazing care of the staff there.
Cookie has been stabilized with a muzzle hold her jaw together
while Dr. Unis plans her surgery
tomorrow
and is on significant doses of pain medication to keep her as
comfortable as possible until then. It will be a long and complex
surgery that we cannot do without you...
