Cindy Lou's family reached out to us late at night for help when she wasn't able to pee - she would just squat and push and nothing would come out and they didn't have the resources to help her.  

A dog not being able to urinate is an emergency situation in that all the waste and yucky stuff that a dogs body eliminates in urine can build up in the body which can affect the entire body up to and including organ damage.  In case that isn't scary enough as the bladder continues to fill up it can be pretty painful for the dog, and affect the bladder's ability to function and can even cause the bladder to rupture.  

Cindy Lou's Family was quite a ways outside our area and we told them if they could get her to us, we could help her.  We were relieved the next morning to hear that this pretty girl had made it through the night and her family was on their way with her to get her help.

Cindy Lou went right to LeadER where she was triaged and x-rays showed her entire bladder to be blocked with stones.  Cindy Lou went right to emergency surgery and Dr. Z performed a cystotomy to get all the stones out of her bladder and we breathed a sigh of relief that it looked like there was not any permanent damage done.

Cindy Lou will continue her recovery supported by the amazing team at LeadER and then will be discharged to a medical foster home to make sure she is able to make a full recovery.
