Friends and Fur-Loving Family, 

Today we have the opportunity to support Remie, a beautiful shepherd we rescued about a month ago. One glance in her dark, mesmerizing eyes (even though we were NOT actively looking for a dog that day), and we knew that we needed to show her some love for the rest of her life!! Born in a backyard puppy mill about three years ago, she was repeatedly bred, abused, and shoved aside when she no longer served a purpose. She needed a welcoming home, and now that she is building trust with our family, it's time to give her something in return: a new leg!

Remie is in need of a prosthetic for her right hind leg, and a brace for her left side to save her hips and her good leg from further deterioration. This requires multiple visits for casting, fittings, and necessary adjustments to ensure it is the precision-fit this energetic and loyal girl needs. These long-term gifts will allow her to run soundly on all four legs for the first time in her life!

The total cost of this solution for Remie is about $2200. This is approximate because the exact number of visits she'll need to ensure she's properly fitted is not known until her fittings begin. 

Your support will help this beautiful girl, adjusting to her furever home, in two ways: 1. It will give her the stability to walk - and run - on all four paws at the same time :) and 2. It will help save her hips from further wear and tear so her quality of life as she ages will be significantly better than anything she has experienced in her life before coming to our family.
