Royal is my aunt’s beloved rescue dog, and his journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He came from a very abusive background and was gifted to my aunt on Mother’s Day by her daughter and a friend. The friend was the daughter of the woman who discovered her fiancé was abusing Royal, and she made the brave decision to leave her fiancé and find Royal a new home. After being rescued again by the former owner’s daughter and her girlfriend, Royal finally found his forever home with my aunt, where he was welcomed with open arms and endless love.

Despite his difficult past, Royal’s spirit has always shone through. He quickly became a cherished member of the family and even found love with Lola, another rescue dog. Their bond was instant, and they have been inseparable ever since. However, Royal’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was once shot by a neighbor and nearly lost his eye while protecting his new family. Through it all, he has remained resilient and loving, bringing joy and comfort to my aunt, who herself has faced serious health challenges, including a brain aneurysm and living on SSI.

Recently, Royal was diagnosed with cancer and now needs surgery to remove tumors, along with medication and follow-up care. My aunt adores him, but she simply can’t afford the cost of his treatment.
