Wild at Life e.V. hasn't added a story.
One of our shelter is victim of land slide! We are coping with a terrible natural disaster as we speak.
Climate change has increased the rains in the are we are active. We
have a shelter and care to hundreds of dogs there: one of our 5 in
Türkiye.
It is our shelter with the most dogs, the coldest and
where we conduct our Give a Stray a Coat program.
With extreme
temperature change, the snow in the mountainous area started to melt
quickly over the last years. Our shelter is in the area where no one
comes and dumps animals. This was the reason we started to care there
over a decade ago.
we had just changed the beddings and the roof
for coming summer.
and NOW, yesterday, we were hit by a landslide. Snow has melted quick and water brought huge rocks down the hill. One sadly hit our shelter and dogs got trapped. Our food supply got smashed, road got blocked. We are devastated.
our mascot of 15 years old, who was with us since a baby, Yakisikli, has died as his room was just in the way.
we work over the clock to rescue the remaining. It is a disaster
area. Not a single shelter, room , roof has left. Not a single food
box has left. We have lost all. Literally all.
We can’t turn back and leave now. We need to continue as stronger as even and make the place better than ever.
Rainy season is making the problem even greater. Now the shelter
demolished, a rock siting on top of the shelter, dogs are now in
open area .
WOULD you URGENTLY chip in? So we can continue helping these helpless gentle souls And URGENTLY clean the area and start from where we have left? We are devastated
Stray animals face numerous challenges, including lack of
shelter, food scarcity, exposure to harsh weather, and health risks.
They often endure injuries, diseases, and a constant struggle for
survival. Strays may also face threats from humans, traffic accidents,
and the absence of regular veterinary care.
Wild at Life provide shelters, food, and medical assistance which significantly improve the lives of stray animals. Adoption and spaying/neutering programs also contribute to controlling stray populations and enhancing the well-being of these vulnerable animals.
Wild at Life is brining help to very remote dump areas in Turkey,
where no one even cares for these beautiful Anatolian dogs. We bring
food, coats, shelter, water, medicine.
we need YOU and your valuable support to keep going, keep helping.
