Noelle was taken from a very bad situation by a good Samaritan who contacted us and asked if we could help her. She is maybe a year old and was kept crated her entire life. When she was picked up, she was in the crate with no tray in the bottom, and she was laying in her own urine & feces, unable to even get up due to her being so weak from her malnourishment. We got her from the good Samaritan... and rushed her to the ER. She weighs 13lb!!! Her body temperature was so low, that it took three hours for it to even register on the thermometer and then it was only 89.6 degrees--this little girl was very close to dead. She is in acute renal failure due to being malnourished and dehydrated. She was covered in HUNDREDS of fleas. She is currently, after 24 hours, still hooked to IVs for fluids, a feeding tube through her nose and is still under heating blankets. We went to visit her this morning and she was much more alert and had begun to eat tiny bits on her own, a good sign. But she is far from out of the woods. Setbacks of many types could happen at any time. It is touch & go with her and will continue to be for quite a while--she has a very long road ahead of her. Please pray for her and send many positive thoughts her way--she has a strong will to live and deserves her chance at a lifetime of love.
