Leela is a 9-year old ragamuffin with a lot of sassy and the poofiest parachute pants-like fluffy butt. During the first summer of the pandemic in 2020, we had experienced an apartment fire from a few units over where we almost lost our sweet girl. The firemen never found her during the fire, but she had managed to climb into out bedroom mattress and shield herself from the smoke until we were able to find her, 6 whole hours later. That night in the hotel provided by Red Cross, our sweet girl purred happily between us and I was so thankful to still have her. I promised her that I would always do my best to save her. 

Now, Leela is facing some health issues. On Friday, May 16th, her vet at Tail-end had informed us that certain levels in her blood were far too high and recommended that we take her to a specialist soon to get an ultrasound on her liver. We do not know if this is an infection or a possible tumor. The vet we were told to call is on vacation until this coming Tuesday so we are still waiting to make that appointment, but we are researching as much as possible for all possible solutions. 

We're fighting for her now because Leela still has time with us and has never let this affect her personality. We will fight for her as long as we can, as long as she still shows that she has it in her. We love her so much and can't stand to see her in pain or discomfort, so we want to get her good treatment. 

But we need your help. Our family already lives on a very tight budget and cannot afford high cost vet bills, as I know many families are struggling financially already. But if any could share or donate a small amount, any amount helps. Please help us provide the care that Leela deserves. 

At the start of this campaign, we will set the goal to cover the bills that have been paid so far, plus a little extra for any possible emergency visits or if we need a downpayment to set an appointment with the specialist. I will give full transparency for this, so I am open to sharing vet receipts, or if anyone wants to donate directly to the vet to cover costs I'm happy to share where she is getting treatment once we have an appointment scheduled.
