Hi

Runner was neutered and tested for hertworms yesterday. He was also thoroughly examined. Unfortunately, he tested positive for heartworms and he must start treatment beginning tomorrow. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the PAWS clinic in Chicago can only dispense drugs directly related to sterilization and castration. Tomorrow I have to go to our regular veterinarian for Doxycycline and for preventive drugs that help get rid of worms. Maddie is also heartworms positive and she needs treatment too :( Tomorrow I'm taking her to the clinic as well because her case is the most severe. She has also a kennel cough and she is very skinny to top that all. The situation is very serious and we still have 3 dogs to be tested . I also managed to pay $2090 for dogs transportation, we have funds for 3 more spays but now with the extra treatments for the dogs (which will take a few more months) I'm going to be quite heavily charged with all costs . Beginning Thursday night I've been also delivering dogs locally from South Chicago to Rockford, IL and at last all the way to Cheboygan, Michigan in two different cars. My car unfortunately was totalled by the insurance company back on Friday due to the accident where all my air bags blew out. I had to rent the car from Enterprise to get with Rambo and Rhythm to Michigan . With gas and car rental that's an additional cost of $ 600. I am asking for even the smallest donation for the treatment for dogs 🙏 We need all the help that we can get.
