Introduction
My beloved Chihuahua, Non-chan, is now living with a large tumor in
her liver.
She also suffers from hydrocephalus and a neck hernia,
which make it very difficult for her to move her body. On top of that,
her front legs are paralyzed.
Even so, Non-chan still tries to walk.
She loves going outside,
she loves her meals, and she shows me every day that she still wants
to live.
How Things Used to Be
Until recently, I could leave her alone for a while because she was able to walk around by herself without much risk of falling.
But now, even taking a few steps is hard.
I have tried several
kinds of walking aids, but because of her paralysis and the way she
needs to hold her neck, she cannot use them properly.
Still, she keeps trying to move forward.
When I see her doing
her best, I feel I must do everything I can to support her.
Daily Life and Struggles
Non-chan goes to the vet almost every week for check-ups and
treatments.
The costs of hospital visits and medicine keep
growing, and financially it is becoming overwhelming.
At the same time, I cannot leave her alone, not even for a few
minutes.
This means I can hardly work, and I hardly sleep.
I
myself once overcame depression, but now it has returned together with
severe ADHD symptoms, making it nearly impossible to balance
caregiving and work.
What I Wish For
As long as Non-chan shows her will to “walk” and “live,” I want to
give her that chance.
Her time may be limited, but I want her to
spend every day she has left happily and with dignity.
She loves eating, she loves walking.
If I can help her continue
to enjoy those small but precious moments, then I will have done what
I can as her family.
Final Words
Non-chan is not just a pet—she is family.
She has given me
strength and comfort for more than 10 years.
Now, I want to give back to her by making her last days filled with
love and joy.

care, daily caregiving, and for me to continue supporting her while
keeping up with basic living needs.
