These are my sweet senior boys Flournoy (left) and his brother
Bartleby (right). They have been together since they were in the womb
and continue to make my life even more fulfilling each passing day.
They were taken in as kittens by my ex partner and I many years ago
and have always lived with us. When we separated, they stayed with him
for a couple of years when I had to move states, however my ex and I
stayed close friends and were roommates after I was able to move back.
Our living situation had to change once again not long ago and they
went to stay with him as at the time I was not able to keep them
myself and of course I’d always be able to see them. Tragically on
July 12th of this year, my dear friend passed away suddenly and of
course when his younger brother reached out to me about taking the
cats in I accepted and immediately went to pick them up. Fast forward
to now…While Flournoy has luckily never had any issues, his brother
Bartleby has not been as lucky. Bartleby struggles with a couple of
issues, one less pressing is his unknown cause to lick himself bald
sometimes. For the most part that’s manageable, but more so the cause
for my bid for help is his severe asthma. His attacks are becoming
more and more frequent and I am not able to afford the treatments and
upkeep of managing it. I applied for carecredit and was not eligible
and I am currently in a low income situation after getting back into
work after my own health issues that have finally and thankfully been
resolved. I just want to get Bartleby the care he needs as they both
have already been through a lot and I want many more years with
them—quality years. So, I plead with anyone who comes across my
fundraiser to consider donating what you can, not for my own sake, but
for his and his brother’s. I know if Bartleby’s time were to be cut
unnecessarily short it would absolutely devastate his brother and of
course myself. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this
