I am Gabriella Bus. I moved to Cyprus in June, 2005 for a better future. But shortly I found myself to looking after cats. First just where I lived, but after at one cemetery in Limassol.

Here people abandon their cats on daily basic, so it is an endless job. There is always a cat, who need help, food, spaying/neutering, treatment....... 

In 2021 I opened a shelter for the cats and took in 100 cats. To be able to look after them I moved there, too. It is far from Limassol, I spend 2 hours driving every day ( come and go ), but it worth everything to know the cats are safe.

But now I am in trouble. The place has no electricity. The land has water and I use a generator to take it out. But now 3 month it does not work, so I have no running water, just water in the outside tanks, what is freezing cold. It makes my job extremely difficult. And the summer is coming, when I need lot more water. Without to be able to take out the water every day, it will be impossible to stay there and for me and for the cats. 

Today I went to check a shop, who sell portable solar power "banks", but unfortunately they are not just expensive, but they are not strong enough for the water pump. :(

So we have no other solution, than to continue our process with the electricity, what we began nearly two years ago. 

We, my husband and I talked with them today and all paper work is ready, but the post lost our paper, what they send to us, so that is the reason we did not get any information the last 3 month from them.

When we began the process, they told us 6500 euros for it, but today they told it will be cheaper, hopefully around 5 - 5500 Euros.

But it is still too much for me to pay. The last 17 years I spend all my money, salary and heritage on the cats, I have no savings at all. By building the shelter and looking after the cats there too and at the cemetery I still did not pay off my debt, what I made by building the shelter.
