Dear Friends,

We have some exciting news to share with you, although many of you who are on social media already know, we have moved to a new and amazing heritage farm, in Whitefield, Maine ( and no worries, all the animals and buildings came with us). This new property has established fields for the horses and hooved friends - which is a big blessing - but even more of one, is the incredible peace and quiet here. We are now located over a mile down a long dirt road surrounded by thousands of acres of a Maine State Wildlife Sanctuary. All you hear are birds, wildlife and the wind blowing through the leaves and forestland. It is heaven sent, and it feels like it was made especially for the sanctuary. I have attached some pictures of this beautiful place. It is and will be, our journey's end.

The animals all handled the move like champs and are loving the tranquility as much as we are. It is so nice not to hear cars and traffic going by and you can just feel how relaxed everyone is. Now that spring is here, we are working hard to put in new animal systems. Even though there are barns, we still have quite a lot of work to do; and mean to make the most of the warm weather months. A huge thank you to all the support we've received so far - everyone seems to be as much in love with this new place as we are.

I hope you enjoy the pictures - although they don't do this place justice. We will be planning a fall open house, and by-appointment visiting times, starting in mid-September. So, be sure to reach out then. That gives us ample time to put in all the fencing we need and finish getting everything set-up. Thank you again, for your love and support and for your donations. That being said, with the economy being what it is, we are sadly seeing a reduction in donations. Hay and grain are also on the rise, and we put our faith and trust in God and hope with all our hearts that all of you who care and love this place will continue to lend your support when you can. And please know, every dollar counts (from $5, $10, $15) it all adds up to make a big impact for the animals.

We have started a spring fundraiser to refill our food cupboards and help pay for all the expenses that come this time of year, including yearly vet exams and vaccinations. The cost for just a 6-week supply of hay is over $2,400. It takes a lot of money to care for this many animals. And it is also a lot of work - day in and day out. But they are so worth it, for these beautiful souls who found life-long sanctuary at Cottontail Cottage.

I think of every one who supports this beautiful place, so often, and send a special prayer of thanks your way. Your support means the world to us and we are incredibly grateful to each and everyone who steps in to make a difference in the lives of these beautiful creatures.
