Magüi was found injured in the middle of a busy road in Mexicali after being hit by a car. She couldn’t move her back legs and was crying in pain. She never showed aggression—only fear and trust, as if she knew help had finally arrived.
She was taken to HelpVet Veterinary Clinic in Mexicali, where the doctors immediately evaluated her, ruled out internal bleeding, and began treatment for pain and inflammation. X-rays confirmed a spinal fracture. Since then, she has been receiving medical care, and medications have been continuously prescribed and paid for as part of her stabilization.
The veterinarians believe Magüi has a real chance to recover and walk again, but she will need a specialized spinal surgery using bone cement, followed by ongoing medication and post-operative care. These costs go beyond what one person can cover alone.
Magüi has shown remarkable resilience and a gentle spirit throughout this process. She allows handling, remains calm during treatment, and continues to fight quietly every day.
