We are reaching out to you to help support our mission in establishing a safe haven sanctuary for hedgehogs in need. Our dream is to create a sanctuary where every hedgehog can find love, care, and a second chance at life.
About us
My name is Brittney, and I am hoping to open a safe haven sanctuary for hedgehogs in Saskatoon SK and surrounding areas, or anyone willing to travel to Saskatoon to surrender. We will take in as many hedgehogs as we have room for, and will always do our best to make room if necessary. We are committed to providing a safe and loving environment for all hedgehogs coming into our care. We value love, kindness, respect, and safety.
Our Story
I have always grown up with animals ever since I was little. It has been a huge part of my life. I have struggled a lot with my mental health and have been hospitalized in the past. Animals give me purpose. Phoebe, my current hedgehog, has inspired me to want to make sure all hedgehogs are loved and cared for properly, even when the current owner can no longer, or doesn’t want to anymore. I want to be there for the hedgehogs that need a new home, like if they no longer can care for them or if they got sick, I want to be there for them. I wouldn’t have a life without Phoebe, I want to give back. I want to dedicate my life to these hedgehogs, it’s what makes me happy.
Why We Need Your Help
The biggest cost we need help with is having a place to stay. The sanctuary will be in a home so there is almost always supervision. We need a place to call home, help with the costs of running the place and bills, food, cages, toys, liners, wheels, etc… As well as vet care, hedgie hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, and almost one of the more important things is ceramic heaters to keep them warm. Those are the biggest costs and what we need help with the most.
What Your Donation Will Achieve
Most of the funds will go towards the building we choose to reside in and bills to keep the place running like water, heat, electricity, etc… With the rest of the money, it will go towards all the necessities such as: cages, fleece cage liners, ceramic heaters, food/water and dishes, toys, treats, play pens, wheels, enrichment, litter trays, vet care, shampoo and conditioner, other bath supplies, hides and snuggle sacks, cage accessories, and cage cleaner. There may be extra costs not listed that may come up, but will still go to the sanctuary. We will ensure all donated money goes directly into the sanctuary and costs of running it.
