Autumn Appeal
Our Autumn Appeal is all about preparation for another
mountain winter, and will be strictly spent according to the
following budget.
The first half of the goal will be spent on a new tent, if possible one that is called a “hot tent” and comes with a micro fireplace. This will save quite a bit in fuel, because we still have a lot of dead wood on the Junipers.
Next,
we will need approx. $300.00 usd worth of gravel delivered. This
will let us add drainage to the camp, and at least finish the
driveway entrance. Along with the gravel, we need a drainage pipe
at the driveway entrance.
And to complete the winter build, we need several large tarps.
The second half of the appeal funds will be spent on completely restocking the Hermitage with fuel and food. We can never get to much in before the rains render our road impassable for the season.
With these items and my labor, I will be able to prepare the base camp for another winter, and bring in plenty of fuel and food for the Hermitage. Who knows, I may even be able to do a winter Rains Retreat! I will document the build on my YouTube channel.
