"There's my family!!"  I truly feel these were Bee's thoughts and doggie intuition when she approached my daughter at an auto repair shop in October of 2022. Severely malnourished and desperately in need of a family to love her as she so deserves...the bond was instant!! Busy Bee became the newest member of the Green family. After a visit to our veterinarian for necessary preventative care, she blossomed into The Busiest, Sweetest little Bee socializing w/ every being she's met. So beautiful & pure!! The love, compassion and growth I've seen her bring to so many is indescribable!! 

In early November of 2023, Bee and I were taking a walk outside. She saw a squirrel, somehow slipped out of her collar, chased the squirrel into the road and was hit by a car. Immediately we rushed her to our nearest emergency veterinarian. The tibia and fibula of her right hind leg were fractured. Because they were clean breaks, thought of healing without surgery was a strong possibility, but no guarantee. We're just so grateful she was able to walk away from that, to be honest!! 

Bee has been in a splint for almost 8 weeks now. Once a week she goes to have her bandages changed and to see how she's healing. On week 6, new xrays were taken and her leg isn't healing as expected. 

We met with the surgeon this week...and there are two options: Leave the cast for another 6 to 8 weeks with continued weekly visits. However, still no guarantee and her leg will have to be amputated if this option doesn't help. The other option is surgery which would be the better option for her healing and overall better quality of life. 

As any pet owner knows, this severe injury and continuous weekly doctor visits have become very expensive. ($3000+ so far) Care Credit has been a blessing. However, they have given as much credit as they can offer at this time. 

Our goal is to raise $5500 for surgery as soon as possible and/or enough to continue weekly visits to avoid amputation. Your contribution will help us continue to fight this fight and allow her live her best life, as the Busy little Bee she was meant to be. Back in the great outdoors running, swimming, playing with her friends, she really misses being able to enjoy go everywhere we go. Life isn’t the same without our bubbly little girl. 😔
