I never thought l'd be writing something like this, but here we are— asking for help for our oldest fur baby, who we love more than we can put into words.

Our 11½-year-old Labrador Retriever, Laci has been with us through so much, especially our medical trials.

She's gentle, loyal, extremely loving and incredibly patient with everyone. She's part of our family in every sense of the word.

Recently, she developed a painful dental infection. We took her to Springs Road Animal Hospital, where she was given an antibiotic injection that cost almost $400. We didn't hesitate-she was hurting-but that visit was a lot for what little we had.

The veterinarian there gave us a quote for the dental cleaning and tooth removal she urgently needs to remove the tooth and prevent future infections. The cost is something we can’t afford; quoted between $1409 & $2123. There is a 10% discount for the month of February that would help greatly if we could manage to get her in this month.

My husband and I are both disabled and live on a fixed income. Our daughter, and two grandchildren live with us. She works, so we all help each other, but there just isn't room in our budget for this kind of veterinary expense.

Asking for help is one of the hardest things we've ever done. Actually we’ve never asked for anything like this, but our sweet girl deserves this. She needs us to speak up for her, and that’s what we’re going to do. She should also have a spay surgery since she will be need general anesthesia for her teeth. We’re hoping and praying that there are kind, caring individuals out there that can help us to reach this goal.
