Bandit's K9Care Inc. hasn't added a story.
Boomer’s Story - From his owner: Bommer is a seven
month old Cane Corso/Rottweiler/Mastiff mix. Five weeks ago he slipped
in the mud, fell and shattered his left front elbow. Because of the
extent of the damage we had to amputate that leg. We took him back to
the vet that did the surgery a few weeks later due to a clicking sound
in his back right leg. We were told he has a torn cruciate ligament
which will require surgery to fix. We believe the injury in the back
likely occurred when he fell but was not noticed until he began
walking post surgery.
Since he only has one leg in the front he needs two working back
legs in order to have a good quality of life. For now he has been on
crate rest, which isn’t easy for a young pup. The amputation exhausted
all of our financial resources and we were denied a loan for the
surgery. We also contacted other organizations but did not get
approved for funding. We thought we were out of options when Bandit’s
BandAid reached out and offered to help.

Marley’s Story - From his owner: Marley is a terrier
mix that I rescued in 2017. He is about 6 years old. Marley’s ankles
became swollen, and then progressed to where his feet became mangled,
causing difficulty walking. I took him to our vet in January and they
did x-rays. I was told he has a genetic autoimmune disorder that has
disintegrated the bones and connective tissue in his feet, ankle and
joints. This autoimmune disease (which I have since learned may by
IMPA) also affected his ears. He has sores on the end of them
frequently. My vet told me that we could get a referral to an
orthopedic specialist, but I knew that I would not be able to afford
that with my severely disabled son Zachary and other rescued dogs. My
Care Credit was already maxed out.
Marley is an amazing, loving and brave trooper. He gives me inspiration. He has a zest for life, loves his siblings and really wants to walk and live his life. Thanks to Bandit’s BandAid I am working on getting him an appointment with the specialist to see if this condition can be controlled.

Dylan’s Story - From his owner: Dylan is a Pembroke
Welsh Corgi that my partner and I rescued. Last week Dylan was in to
our long term vet for a checkup and to schedule a non- anesthetic
dental (he had them twice before). The vet told us he was no longer a
candidate for that kind of dental because he has a premolar with a
slab fracture and two other loose teeth.
My now ex-partner and I co-parent Dylan and he has been living with her for the last two years in Santa Cruz while I am in Utah with my family. She is deaf and receives disability benefits which she uses to pay for Dylan’s regular care. I had to close down my business due to Covid and am living with, and caring for, my elderly parents. I have always had the funds to care for our dogs as well as to do rescue work. But the cost of this dental surgery is beyond what we can afford, and we are grateful that Bandit’s BandAid was willing to assist us.
