Abigail Springborn hasn't added a story.

I’m coming out of my comfort zone asking for help for Luna’s rhinoscopy. Luna is my soul dog. She means the entire world to me.

This six year old goldendoodle is the sweetest doodle you will ever meet. She is a sassy cuddle bug who loves to give hugs, loves her treats and cares for her toys as if they are her babies. Everyone who meets her instantly falls in love with her.

There is only one problem: her nose.

My Luna needs a rhinoscopy, possibly a CT scan/MRI to diagnose what is happening with her nasal passages, why she is having issues breathing, and what is causing her nasal bone to change.

Back in 2022, Luna started having breathing issues, but the vet kept reassuring it was just allergies. However, the following year, right before her fifth birthday, she had an x-ray done to see if she had something in her nose to make her have reverse sneezing fits and snot slowly drain from her left nostril. Without a clear answer besides a vet saying the right side of her nasal passages is grayed out, indicating it could be cancer, and another vet saying it’s not, I took Luna for a second opinion where she was given antibiotics. Luna started to see some relief, but as time passed, she began to have the same issues again. She went to the vet a couple of more times to help with the snot drainage from her left nostril and to help with the lesion that developed on her soft palate.

In 2024, after she turned six, Luna’s face began to swell. A spot above her eye formed overnight and over the weekend, her whole left eye was swollen. The swelling subsided a little bit, enough where the swelling became squishy and moved below her left eye before rupturing. Off to the vet Luna went where she received more antibiotics to help keep her from developing an infection. Later that week, Luna went to an allergy specialist in Knoxville to rule out a sinus infection and any fungal infection she might have. She had a fungal biopsy done and was given antifungal medication along with antibiotics and steroids to help with the inflammation, which helped and gave Luna relief. However, we received news that the fungal biopsy came back negative.

Luna’s swelling continued, and although the antibiotics were helping, they weren’t helping enough. It was although Luna’s nasal problem started to become antibiotic resistant. Soon enough, the right side of her nasal bone developed what feels like a hole, along with the center of her skull between her eyes from the last time she had swelling. The lesion on her soft palate is back as well. At her last visit with the allergy specialist, it was determined that Luna needed either a MRI/CT scan or a rhinoscopy or both to further diagnose what is going on with her snout and nasal passages.

The animal hospital gave me an estimate of $5500, which is why I am asking for donations so I can get a diagnosis for Luna, as I need answers as to what is going on. Is it cancer? Or Is there something in her nasal passages causing chronic infection and inflammation?

As I said, Luna is my soul dog, she means the absolute world to me. I have had her ever since she was a puppy, when I needed her the most. She brings smiles to people’s faces and people fall in love with her when they first meet her. She is just the sweetest, kindest and loving dog you will ever meet.

Please help Luna get a diagnosis and answers, so we can fight this and so she no longer has to be in pain. I never expected anything like this to happen to Luna. Ever. It came so suddenly, it breaks my heart. If more is donated than what is asked, it will all go to Luna’s future treatment plan after her diagnosis.

I truly appreciate everyone who shares this and donates to help Luna. It will mean the world to me, Luna, and everyone who loves Luna so dearly. Thank you so much to everyone willing to help.
