We are Friends of Larnaca Cats. We look after close to 500 cats in colonies around Larnaca and in our sanctuary.  We are a non profit organisation registered with the Cyprus Government, We rely entirely on donations. 

We desperately need your help to pay our vet bills please! We pay our vets every penny we can spare on a monthly basis but, as you can understand, it is never enough. We never have enough money to spare to actually bring our bills down (due to the sheer quantity of cats that need vet care every month) so our debt just keeps on increasing. Our vets try and help us as much as they can with reduced prices and are patient beyond expectation, as regards the money we owe, but they obviously can’t keep on providing us with their service and medications as our bill gets higher and higher. Year in, year out, this is always our biggest problem and worry.

Apart from the usual expenses of needing to deworm, deflea, vaccinate and neuter so many cats, we also have inherited many chronic cats from a specific colony, that need treatment constantly. Then there are also the many injured or sick cats we pick up after calls from the public.

In the last 2-3 months alone we have had to take cats in for broken bones, dislocated pelvis’s, eye surgery or removal, FIP, ulcers, cancer, abscess’s etc, but by far the greatest number of cases have been for mouth infections and/or teeth removal. Unfortunately we are now at the stage where we have had to stop accepting any more injured or sick animals into our shelter as we just cannot afford to treat them. With your help we are hoping to clear our vet bills so that we don’t need to say ‘no’ to any more cats that need our help.
