Last week my husband (a disabled combat veteran) and I took my Emotional Support Animal Tequila to get spayed. Unfortunately she had a reaction to the anesthesia and developed something called hemorrhagic enteritis, which is life threatening.

Twice on Monday we took her to the vet who originally preformed the surgery because Tequila started having blood in her stool.  The vet seemed apathetic about the problem and only visually evaluated her, no tests were conducted. She gave her a shot to help with nausea and an antibiotic that she immediately threw up.

We decided to take her to the Swansboro Animal Hospital Emergency and Trauma Center because of vomiting and bloody diarrhea.

We had already saved and spent $1600 to get her up to date on shots, blood work, fecal test and finally spayed…

We had to borrow money from our family to pay $2,500 for the Emergency Vet to admit & hospitalize her for 3 days.

I’ve researched foundations that offer financial assistance for emergency veterinarian bills, but wasn’t able to find any we would qualify for. 😞

 

So, as a last resort, I’m reaching out to any friends or family that might be able to make a small donation to help us get back on our feet and repay our family.
We would be forever grateful for any help❤️‍🩹✝️🫶🏼  Tequila has been recovering well, and we are hoping that she will be back to normal very soon❣️🙏
