Please Help Rhaenyra Fight Against Her Illness
Please help us fight for my girl, Rhaenyra, after her terrifying
diagnosis of mass-like lesions with unknown cause. She’s come so far
since the day we brought her home and I know her fight isn’t over,
help us fight with her.
Hi my name is Hailey Withers. I’m an animal lover and I chose to
rescue my first dog in 2021. Since then I’ve rescued 6 animals, 3
dogs and 3 cats.
This year I rescued my 3rd dog, Rhaenyra. She’s a 1.5 year old
Great Dane Cane Corso mix. She’s a very sweet girl, she came to us
skittish, she had multiple accidents in the house, but we saw her
potential. We put a lot of time and effort into building her
confidence and becoming the dog she deserves to be. She’s a whole
new dog than she was when we first got her.
However, things have taken a scary turn. Starting November 15th
2025, she got very sick. She started throwing up and lost her
appetite. We immediately took her to the ER where she was treated
symptomatically after X-rays showed nothing significant, but her
stomach wasn’t emptying at the time. Since then she’s been to the ER
2 more times, was diagnosed with hookworms on her second visit and
we thought that was finally it.
Unfortunately though on 12/5/25 she threw up bloody foam, we
rushed her to the ER again fearing it was bleeding from the
hookworms but it was much worse, she’s been diagnosed with
intestinal mass-like lesions of unknown origin.
The vet that found this recommended medications for symptoms
right now which we opted in for, she is going back in 2 weeks for
more medications and another ultrasound to see the mass again. She’s
wanting us to see a specialist for another ultrasound and maybe a
biopsy depending on what they think but we’re struggling so much
after these 3 ER visits.
We want to help her fight this, but her insurance doesn’t start
in 5 days so they are not willing to cover this. We’ve almost maxed
out our care credit card with these last 3 visits. I fear we’ve
exhausted all options and this is the last thing I could think of doing.
I’ve never done one of these before, but I’m hoping by doing
this I can give her the best chance possible. We haven’t had her
long but we love her and she’s worked so hard to become the dog she
is now. I really do appreciate any help and all funds will go
directly towards her diagnostics and treatment. Your support will
