**Jax the 5-year-old Chihuahua mix, found in the streets of LA covered in scars, had his hind leg chewed off, likely from being used as a bait dog in dog fighting. Hello, hello!  My name is Jax! 

I’m a five-year-old Chihuahua who happens to have had a hard life and look a little different. Most dogs have four legs. I have three. 

You see, I was a victim of dog fighting. They say the term is bait dog. Afterward, I was scraped up and wandering the streets. I was scared. But I don’t want to relive that part of my life by talking about it; my future looks super happy! A nice lady found me and brought me to Promise 4 Paws, who took care of me. 

A very nice family wants me  forever and my foster promised them I would soon have a prosthetic leg so I won’t have future issues. I get around well without, but I do struggle and overcompensate with my other legs, putting my alignment off. I’m told this can eventually cause problems, such as arthritis and pain.
