Who I Am:

Hi, I’m Maureen and I’m a mom to a couple of super farmer kids, Ruby and Chris, who've been on a mission to save their farm's feral cats. But my son-in-law got throat cancer and now has to go through chemo and radiation and their resources are strained. We’re looking for any kind of support right now to help them with their mission.

The Story/Who They Are:

‘Lil Dude’ started showing up at Ruby and Chris's Farm in 2024, so they fed him. He showed up every day for his meal, but wouldn't go near people. In January, he was seriously injured and since they’re experienced with animal rescue, they trapped him, brought him to emergency care, then nursed him back to health. They had him neutered, then with great patience, integrated him into their household.

But then… the second cat appeared at the farm, so they fed that one, too. Then a colony of cats living nearby—plus kittens—started appearing regularly for meals. Recognizing the conundrum of the cats multiplying and their limited resources, they decided to trap, neuter, and release (T.N.R.) the ones that were already alive and kicking to elevate everyone’s quality of life.

Then Chris got diagnosed with throat cancer and all their plans went topsy turvy. He's been so ill from treatments, that my daughter and son-in-law, two farmers, were unable to plant their crops this season. But Ruby and Chris are determined to follow through on their T.N.R. plans… because that’s who they are! Kids with big hearts despite facing immense hardship. They're not even asking for themselves? Can you imagine that!

Breakdown for the $2000. ask:

Ruby and Chris have spent $400 so far, need $500. for the trap, neuter, release plan, and $1100. to cover expenses for their indoor cats, Roscoe, Yard Tiger* and Lil Dude* until Chris is able to work.

*formerly feral.

I'm asking you to donate what you can for vet fees, to support trapping, transporting, and getting medical help for these animals. We think these kind hearted kids deserve a break. Don’t you? (*Disclaimer: to me they're always kids, but they're competent adults dealing with real issues!)

Thanks for taking the time to read and to help my kids on their mission!
