Calico is a long term resident at Sandy's shelter run by Friends of Larnaca cats in Cyprus.
Her eye "infection" started about 2 years ago. She has been treated by several different vets and whilst the antibiotics/eye drops/nasal drops clear the problem whilst she takes them within a few days the problem returns.
As you can imagine after such a long time of treatment she is also fed up with drops/tablets/syrups etc and so is getting harder to treat.
We have been advised to reduce the swelling of the lower eyelid with drops so she can have surgery to "uncurl" her lower eye lid to reduce the inflammation then treat the infection in her nose which is causing the pus to run from her sinuses into her eye through a small hole.
Hopefully this will allow her nose and eye to return to normal as there appears to be nothing actually wrong with her eyeball or her sight as you can see from the pictures...
Obviously this surgery and hospitalisation inst cheap so we are looking to raise €500.00 towards these costs.
We thank the vets again for all their help in trying to find a solution for Calico.
