Help Ace Recover from IVDD Surgery
Hello everyone,
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits. Our beloved 10-year-old Belgian Malinois, Ace, recently underwent surgery for Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). Ace is not just a pet to us; he is our little buddy and sweet boy who has brought immense joy and love into our lives.
Ace’s Emergency
On April 17th, our world was turned upside down. Ace began showing signs of severe pain and difficulty moving out of nowhere, and we rushed him to the animal hospital's emergency room. Just two days later, on April 19th, we received official news of the diagnosis after an MRI was performed. It was IVDD, a condition affecting the spinal discs and causing immense pain and mobility issues. Ace immediately underwent a complex and urgent surgery to relieve his suffering and give him a chance at recovery.
The Surgery
The decision to go ahead with the surgery was not easy, but we knew it was the best chance for Ace to regain his quality of life. The surgery was complex and expensive, but thankfully it was successful. Now, Ace faces a long road to recovery, including physical therapy and medication to manage his pain and aid in his healing.
The Recovery
His recovery has been a rough road so far with lots of ups and downs. However, we see his loving personality and playful demeanor a little more each day. Ace’s resilience, strength and spirit inspires us, and we are committed to helping him through this challenging time.
We have always had the mindset that our pets are there for us 100% of the time when we need them; we felt it was only right to be there for him the same way in return.
