Help Us Quadruple Auchón: Build a Paradise for Our Rescues 🐾
Welcome to our campaign! If you have ever visited Hektor in Lanzarote, you know that the spirit of our community is built on creativity, connection, and giving our beloved rescue animals the best home possible.
Right now, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: our neighbor is offering to sell us the perfect connecting piece of land, which will allow us to expand "Auchón"—our animal kingdom—to four times its current size.
Meet the Animals Who Need This Space Every animal at Hektor has a story, and this land is for them.
- Silvestre: Our Majorero donkey and "mental caretaker" who lived for five years on a 20m2 patch in complete solitude before finding us.
- Tempeh & Tofu: Tempeh was sent to a rescue as a female pig and is forever our little kid, while Tofu (a Canarian pig) came as a spare to keep Tempeh company and is now the one in charge.
- Stella & Loki: Stella, a nervous but funny Pelibüey sheep taken from a mistreated farm, and Loki, our gentle giant Canarian sheep who needs more space to roam.
- The Feathered Crew: From our royal turkeys (peacocks) Isidro, Houdina, and Isabella, to Gemma the goose who loves cuddles, to Felipe the Muscovy duck who doesn't like the sun too much.
- Frits: Given up as a difficult dog, he is an absolute cuddle monster and the true guardian of the premises.
- Carmen & Rofe and all of the neighborhood cats who roam our land (and eat with us)
This expansion will give all of them the vast, safe space they need to truly heal and thrive.
The Financial Goal
To make this expansion happen, we are raising funds in two crucial phases, ensuring complete transparency with our community:
Phase 1 Minimum Goal (€9,500): This covers the absolute essentials to purchase the land. It includes the €6,374 cost of the land, plus the necessary notary, registry, taxes, lawyer fees, and platform fees.
Phase 2 Stretch Goal (€19,000): If we hit our full goal, we can immediately make the land a home! This funds the necessary fencing for multiple fields, new mobile shelters, a water connection, a bridge to cross the barranco, and food storage.
