Hello everyone,Lucy is a stray paralysed kitten, when we found her, she was completely paralysed on both hind legs and unable to walk, we immediately took her to the vet clinic, after vet CT examination, she has deep infected trauma on her left foot, she has fractured nerves in her right thigh, Lucy is unconscious below her thighs, she may need to be amputated, her lumbar vertebrae section 6-7 is severely damaged, due to inability to exert force on her legs. She was unable to defecate on her own, and her perineal hernia was hoarding a large amount of faeces leading to anal exstrophy, which was a serious condition.

Lucy's treatment now consists of fluids to relieve dehydration, electrolyte and nutrient replacement, antibiotics to treat infections, and medication to maintain and repair nerves. Food is a high fibre bowel prescription food and lactulose in an effort to loosen stools and not constipate, her dehydration has improved and her stools are all looser and not constipated at the moment, with little improvement in the nerve response

We have been fundraising for Lucy's perineal hernia repair surgery, which was supposed to involve reuniting the two muscles, the levator ani and the obturator ani, but turning her skin revealed that Lucy had been paralysed for so long that her levator ani muscle had completely atrophied, so the vet specialists immediately modified the surgical plan to close the hernia by combining the obturator ani muscle with the exorectal muscle. Lucy was helped most effectively by the surgery and aftercare.
