Greetings, my name is Knox, the queen of our beloved family. We want you to know that we will be forever grateful for any donations made to help us receive the assistance we desperately need. Honestly, there is no one we hold in higher regard than our Momma. She excels at caring for us with boundless love, and she never lets us feel hunger pangs. While we might feign starvation, it's only because we adore our treats. Right now, she just needs a little support, but I am confident that she will figure things out. If you are able to lend a hand, know that every little bit counts.
When I was just a tiny kitten, I accompanied our momma to the back porch, and she seemed to sense our hunger and need for more than just milk, as she provided us with food. It was me, my three siblings, and our mom. One fateful day, both my mom and one of my siblings disappeared. Despite our calls, she didn’t come back.
We returned to the porch, and that’s how the kind human lady became our Momma. It was just me, my brother, and sister left. Sadly, my sister is now in heaven because she was too close to the road and was struck by a passing car. I was utterly heartbroken, and my brother sought refuge in the woods at night, while I stayed close to the porch, avoiding the road, comforted by the presence of my momma, who always kept watch by my side. She calls me Knox and my brother Kuro.
On April 1, 2024, I welcomed five little babies into the world. The twins are girls, Tuxedos like their father and my momma. Momma affectionately names them Gracie and Serenity, although she struggles to tell them apart. The boys are all black, just like me—one is a giant, fluffy, loving, and sweet soul, one is very timid with golden eyes who is shy around humans, and then there's the little runt who, despite his small size, believes he is the biggest of them all. He isn't afraid of anything; in fact, when cars approach, he curiously checks them out.
Their names are Mikey, Casper, and George.
Last September, I gave birth to more kittens, but tragically, something happened to all but one. He felt lonely and scared, crying out incessantly. I tried to move him under the shed, yet he just wandered and cried. Momma noticed and checked on him, but even after being returned to the shed, he continued to cry all day and night. So, my momma took him with her and offered him comfort. Deep down, she knew something was not quite right—though, I believe he was simply feeling sad, as I was too.
This spring we welcomed more babies , 3 litters ,Our family is expanding swiftly; we surged from eight to eighteen overnight. Momma always comes to my aid when a baby is unwell and does everything she can to care for all of us. I cherish each of my babies, tending to everyone from the big ones right down to my little grandbabies. Unfortunately, Momma’s porch isn't big enough to accommodate any more of us, and I am feeling pretty tired too. More than anything, I want to focus on the babies we already have and enjoy some relaxation.
For quite a while, my momma has been trying to secure help for us to get fixed and checked, but without a car, she finds it challenging. She often expresses that it costs a great deal of money. Although I'm not entirely sure what money truly is, I understand that it is necessary for ensuring we have our meals and, of course, our beloved treats. When cash is tight, she creatively makes us meals using chicken or liver, constructs cozy beds, and even crafts toys. I want to personally say that my family and I love our momma deeply, and if you are able to contribute financially, that would be wonderful. If not, please help us share our story, so others may see it. Every dollar will truly make a difference for my momma, I assure you of that.
****Funding has been cut back in our area as officials don't believe there is a need or over population of cats in our area. Local shelters and rescues are full and have limited resources as well. However everyday on Facebook you can see post after post of people in need of help after finding kittens that have been orphaned or in need of medical attention. The news as even reported areas having increased numbers of kitten deaths being found in public places. I have reached out to numerous organizations over the last year trying to get the care these babies need only to be redirected or quoted low cost prices over $100 or more per cat. We have been blessed with a wonderful lady that has recently come to our area doing spay and neuters from a mobile service. She is willing to help but can't do it for free. Any funds raised will be going to her for the services she is going to provide which will include spay/neuters for all of the cats, shots and flea treatment as well. She has already provided us with antibiotics to get the little ones healthy as they have upper respiratory issues right now. We also need multiple hard per carriers for transportation to her location as well for routine care. I will put the Amazon list here if you would like to provide donations that way as well. I am extremely appreciative and grateful for anything that is given or donated. I never imaged that helping some stray cats would have lead me down this journey. I don't think I would want to change it because they truly have become my family except I want to make sure they are well and healthy.
