Why Strays/Pets Need Our Help

Some people may not know this but some animal shelters are at full capacity and sometimes families have to call months ahead in order to make an appointment. Due to that some people go to extreme measures and may leave their pet at the location, the pet becomes a stray, or the pet and the individual lives in the street. Pets are family and shouldn't be left behind. Our future goal is to be able to have a location where we can take in both the paw parent and the pet but doing this is the step in the right direction.

Between 5% to 10% of homeless people in the United States own pets (mainly dogs and/or cats). Of the 241,117 dogs and cats that entered North Carolina shelters, 170,753 found positive placements, while 47,652 were killed (76% were cats), for a save rate of 70.82%. 25.58% of North Carolina shelters are no-kill (a state is considered to be no-kill when every brick-and-mortar shelter serving and/or located within the state has a save rate of 90% or higher).
