Mary Kihorany hasn't added a story.
Deja is a fluffy little Pembroke Welsh Corgi full of love and energy. We call her “Deja Bear” because no matter where we are, you’ll find her resting under chairs, tables, in closets etc, anything she can call her ‘cave’. She loves playing with her siblings Oscar & Jasmine, chasing tinkerbell (shadows on the wall), and going on our little adventures to the mountains. Unfortunately, in April we discovered some enlarged lymph nodes and soon after our world got turned upside down as they diagnosed her with stage 5 Lymphoma. She’s a little tired these days but she’s still fighting! The vet says this type of cancer is very responsive to chemo so we have decided to give it everything we’ve got. So far she has had 1 treatment, along with steroids, and already her tumors are shrinking! She has so much spirit left in her, and I can see her getting some of her old self back. I know she can beat this, but we need a little help. We have enough funds for one more treatment but she will still need 3 more that we are trying to raise the funds for.
Together our little family has been on many adventures from one side
of the county to the other, and there’s still so much more to see!
She’s more than a ‘pet’, she is my baby. I wasn’t blessed with the
ability to have children but God sent me all the love I’d ever need in
the form of 4 paws and fur and I would do anything to give us as much
time together on this earth as I can.
It’s important to note
that according to her vet chemo is not as debilitating for dogs as it
is humans. She’s not in pain, and she’s not getting sick every day
from it. I would not put her through all of this if it were
diminishing her quality of life. The course of treatment she is on is
a single drug chemotherapy and is composed of 5 treatments (1 every 3
weeks) and daily steroid medication. Treatments are roughly
$615/visit, so we still need $1,845 to finish the last 3. Anything
helps and everything is appreciated. Thank you!
