Sea turtles in Sri Lanka face growing threats from plastic pollution, illegal poaching, coastal development, fishing nets, and boat strikes, placing several species at risk of extinction. The island’s beaches are vital nesting grounds for five of the world’s seven sea turtle species, yet human activity continues to endanger both hatchlings and adults. At  Wild at Life are working tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate injured turtles through medical care, safe recovery habitats, and conservation programs. Their mission includes treating turtles harmed by fishing gear and pollution, protecting nesting areas, and releasing recovered turtles back into the ocean whenever possible. Through awareness campaigns, rehabilitation efforts, and collaboration with local communities, Wild at Life is helping to give these ancient marine creatures a better chance of survival in Sri Lanka’s fragile coastal ecosystems.

Since 5 years we have rescued countless of adult sea turtles in the West Coast area and gave them a new rehabilitation home and vital medicines (which we brought from Germany)

Now we are over capacitated. We have several that won’t be able to be released: such a Bob, whose fins are cut by fishing nets, Stevie who is blinded by Chemicals, Lucky who just arrived to us as a fragile rare albino, and many more.

We also rescue the eggs from beach, as people harm them, and release them when time comes.

But now we need a new tank. Lucky does not have a proper place to live and thrive, hence we need YOU. Would you help us help these wonderful creatures?
