Bringing comfort to pets around the world. 

• My name is AnnaLisa and I massage dogs (and cats, and horses). 
  The most frequent question I hear in sessions is "What can I do at home?" I published a book called "The Canine Comfort Primer: Help Your Dog Feel Their Best" to start to answer this question. But there is more to do.
  
• I recently started donating massages at Philadelphia's largest open-intake shelter.
  Doing shelter massages has shown me the great need for helping shelter dogs regulate their nervous system and decompress. These sessions showcase dogs in a new light, and often helps the shy and nervous dogs become adoptable.
• The work I have done so far only shows me how much more there is to do.
  If I don't go down to the shelter, the dogs don't get massages. There is only one of me, but the benefit to these dogs is so significant. They literally will go into the room shaking and scared and relax so much from the massage that they fall asleep before the session is even over. It's one of the only ways they can truly relax in such a stressful situation. For some dogs, this is their first positive association with touch.
  
• For the dogs with homes and those without. 
  I want to make massage and comfort care accessible to shelters around the country, and empower owners at home to maximize their pet's comfort. Just because a dog doesn't have a home yet, or lives somewhere where they don't have access to a canine massage therapist doesn't mean they should miss out on the benefits. I want to help as many dogs as I possibly can through seminars, donated massages, and virtual resources, because every dog deserves to be comfortable.
