Tink is only two & a half years old and she has spent over 1/2 of her life in recovery from surgeries/procedures to help give her as normal of a life as she can have...
She was surrendered to our rescue by her owner because she was incontinent and they were told she needed ectopic ureter surgery... we had her evaluated by VSC at The LIfe Center in Leesburg, VA and they referred us to University of Pennsylvania... unfortunately, after three visits, they were unable to do what she was referred there to have done so back to Leesburg she went... during this time, she got a luxating patella... then she tore a cruciate...
She went through surgery for spay, a herniated umbilical and her ectopic ureters... the ectopic ureters collapsed so a day and a half later, she went through surgery to have stents put in... she had a hooded vulva and had that fixed...
She ended up going to surgery for her luxating patella & torn cruciate and during recovery, her other cruciate tore... that was another surgery...
When they went to remove her stents, one had migrated into her kidney, where it still sits...
During all of this, she was having one UTI after another and became antibiotic-resistent... she has now had a UTI for months and has been on two antibiotics, gearing up for this surgery...
This surgery is to remove the stent in her kidney as well as to put in an artificial sphincter mechanism because she is still totally incontinent...
She had blood work done this past week, which led to our vet wanting a urine sample... we have now found that her kidney values are pretty escalated... our little girl just can't catch a break.
We are hoping this surgery helps with her incontinence as well as puts a stop to her UTIs... we are hoping her kidney values can be restored after all is said and done... we are hoping that our village is able & willing to step in and help us cover the cost of this surgery, which has an estimate of $7200... this is a tough one after just seeing Denali through the past four weeks (and he's still not able to pee :( )... VSC will not take Tink on Wednesday unless I have already paid the full $7200 so it's imperative that we find a way to make this happen...
Please give if/what you can and share with your friends & family... Tink has been through SO much and has never lost her spunk... her tail is always wagging and she is always smiling... she deserves to be able to be a puppy, running, playing & enjoying life!
