Sheba is one of our sweetest rescue babies, and right now she’s fighting for her life.
Sheba was born right here in our home. We have her mama and her siblings. She has never known anything but love, safety, and family. She grew up in our arms, in our laps, and in the middle of our rescue of 20+ cats that my family has cared for out of pocket for years.
We don’t have a big shelter or a nonprofit behind us.
It’s just us — a small family doing everything we can to give these animals a safe, warm, loving life.
Sheba has always been gentle, talkative, and full of personality. She follows us from room to room, curls up on us, and talks back when we say her name. She’s one of those cats who makes a house feel like a home.
A few days ago, everything changed.
Sheba suddenly became very sick.
She stopped eating.
She grew weak.
Her eyes looked tired.
And we knew something was terribly wrong.
We rushed her to the vet, and they told us she’s dealing with kidney trouble — something that needs immediate care, monitoring, and follow‑up testing if she’s going to keep fighting.
We’re doing everything we can.
But with a rescue this big, and vet bills rising fast, we can’t carry this alone.
Sheba’s kidneys are struggling, and she needs ongoing vet visits, fluids, medication, and bloodwork to stabilize.
With proper treatment, Sheba can recover. She’s still eating little bits, still drinking, still talking to us, still cuddling with the other cats. She’s fighting — and we’re fighting with her.
Caring for 20+ rescue cats already stretches us to the limit. These emergency vet bills are more than we can cover, no matter how hard we try.
